Easter 2025: A gourmet celebration at the Maison des Sœurs Macarons

Easter in Nancy wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Maison des Sœurs Macarons. Since 1793, this institution has been perpetuating the tradition of homemade sweets, and this year it is once again delighting us with creations that are as beautiful as they are tasty.

Chocolate creations to suit all tastes

For Easter 2025, the Maison des Sœurs Macarons is offering a varied collection of chocolate delights:

  • Wrapped Eggs 200g assortment: An irresistible blend of dark, milk and white chocolates, perfect for sharing (or not!).
  • Coated marshmallow animals: Rabbits, chicks, teddy bears... soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside.
  • The ‘Archi’ rabbit: An artistic piece, to crunch with your eyes before savouring. Available in dark, milk or white chocolate.
  • Nougatine eggs: Lined with sugar, these eggs are a real work of art to be savoured.
  • Les Cloches aux trois chocolats: Melt-in-the-mouth pralines, crunchy coatings... an explosion of textures!

And that's just a taste! The complete collection is available on their official website.

The Kanazawa egg: a fusion of traditions

This year, a little jewel is catching everyone's eye: the Kanazawa egg. But why this name? As a tribute to the twinning between Nancy and the Japanese town of Kanazawa, famous for its gold leaf. The result is a fine chocolate egg, subtly decorated with real gold leaves, for an experience as elegant as it is delicious.

An egg that tells a story, that changes everything, doesn't it?

A sweet heritage since 1793

The strength of the Maison des Sœurs Macarons lies not only in the quality of its products, but also in its unique heritage. For over two centuries, it has carefully preserved the recipe for the real Nancy macaroon, devised by two Benedictine nuns at the time of the French Revolution.

Even today, Nicolas Génot, the master of the house, ensures that each creation lives up to this tradition. Recognised as a Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company), the workshop perpetuates a rare know-how, combining love of the craft with excellence.

And what do you know? Tasting their macaroons is like biting into a piece of history!
